KIS Academics has a repertoire of amazing tutors; most of them are current university students who graduated high school in the past five years, but we also have a few excellent ex and current teachers who are truly passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals.
Younger tutors are very advantageous as tutors. They remember what it’s like to be a student - so they’re generally more empathetic towards the student experience. They’re also familiar with the most up-to-date version of the curriculum. We firmly believe that tutoring should be delivered by someone with a different perspective to teachers at school. This ensures that tutoring doesn't just become another few hours of school, but a completely personalised time where students are taught in a different, and more unique way. You can read more about this here: Should I get a graduate tutor, or a teacher
All our tutors are well trained, and our resources are up-to-date with the latest curriculum. All tutors go through the same intensive application and interview processes, as well as the KIS Academics tutor training program - a course that includes assessments and certifications - before they become a KIS tutor. This ensures they're all well versed in the teaching skills necessary to make the most of their time with students!
